A tiny team,
huge imagination.
We're a small indie studio that believes games should feel joyful, surprising, and made with love. From silly mechanics to unexpected moments, everything we build is designed to bring a smile to your face.
Our mission
Make games people enjoy.
Small Newt Games started in 2021 as a hobby and grew into a small indie studio focused on fun, chaotic, and memorable experiences. Built in Unreal Engine 5, our games combine humor, creativity, and playful gameplay — designed to be easy to jump into and hard to put down.
Six years in game dev — five sharpening our craft in Unreal Engine 5 — have taught us how to turn silly ideas into polished, playful experiences. We've shipped several small internal projects, and we're now working toward our first full release in 2027.

What we value
How we make things.
Player first
Every mechanic, sound, and pixel is tuned toward one goal — making players smile.
Playful ideas
We chase weird, funny, unexpected ideas. If it makes us laugh in the office, it might just ship.
Polished craft
Small studio doesn't mean small quality. We sweat the details until it feels great.
Built with community
We share the journey openly and let player feedback shape what we make next.
Our story
The Newt journey.
2020
First game, first spark
It all started in Scratch — a tiny first game, a huge amount of curiosity, and the beginning of six years in game development.
2021
Small Newt Games is born
What began as a hobby became Small Newt Games, a place to keep making silly, playful things and take the craft seriously.
2022 — 2025
Sharpening the craft
Five years learning Unreal Engine 5 — shipping small internal projects, experimenting with mechanics, and finding our voice.
Now
The workshop is buzzing
We're deep into development on a multiplayer chaos sandbox in Unreal Engine 5, and sharing devlogs along the way.
2027
First full release (hopefully)
We hope to get our first full release into your hands (just remember, it's not guaranteed)
Come make games with us.
Follow the studio for devlogs, sneak peeks, and the occasional silly moment.
